ABOUT NDSAA

The New Day School Alumni Association NY Inc (NDSAA) is a Not –For-Profit (IRS Code 501c (3) Alumni organization, established in 2012, incorporated under the laws of the State of New York in 2016; for the purpose of supporting and promoting New Day Primary and Junior High School, its alumni and the local communities in Kingston, Jamaica, W.I. and New York state. We provide educational tools and financial support to the students of New Day School to help give the students an opportunity to improve their education, attain their full potential and become valuable contributors to both their community and society.

We are a member of the Union Of Jamaican Alumni Associations (USA) Inc. 
UJAA  http://www.ujaausa.org/ was founded in 1990 as a not-for -profit umbrella organization of alumni associations of Jamaican educational Institutions. Member associations are comprised of Jamaican nationals who have benefited from an education received in Jamaica, and have availed themselves of the rewards of industry and citizenship in the United States of America.

New Day School Alumni Association New York Chapter Inc., (NDSAA) is a New York State not for profit 501(C) (3) tax exempt organization. Established in 2012, our commitment is to administer educational tools, financial support, and scholarships to the students of New Day Primary and Junior High School. We are dedicated to providing students with a platform to improve their education, achieve their full potential, as well as helping them become valuable contributors to both their community, and society as a whole.  We have fostered a synergistic partnership with the school and other community based organizations to accomplish these goals.

About New Day School

The New Day Primary and Junior High School is a government school located at 1 East Dulwich Drive, Grants Pen, Kingston 8. In January 1961, Principal Mr. Clement McBean welcomed the school’s first attendees, a total of 703 students. Although New Day School started as a primary school, it was upgraded to a Primary and Junior High School in 1976, ranging from First Form to Ninth Form to create a more focused curriculum and an enhanced student experience. New Day was first built to accommodate 900 students however attendance grew to over 2,000 by the late 70s.

The school’s Chairman of the Board, is Mr. Ian Muirhead, the current Principal is Mr. Garfield McDonald. The school has 2 Vice Principals, 39 academic staff members, 3 administrative staff, 3 Deans of Discipline and 2 guidance counselors, all contributing to timely development of the students.

New Day School is a strong and noble institution which continues to successfully address the academic, athletic, and creative development of its students.  It boasts many successful professionals among its graduates some of whom now serve in areas of academia, science finance and law.
