New Day School Alumni Association NY Chapter Inc. Meet and Greet Roadshow Highlights

The Prime Minister’s office has endorsed the New Day School Alumni Association NY Chapter organization. During our recent trip to Jamaica, we met with Mr. Lincoln Robinson Senior Communication Specialist for The Most Hon. Portia Simpson Miller, ON,MP. We provided an overview of NDSAA’s initiatives and the partnership with other sponsors. We took the opportunity to thank the team for their commitment and contribution to New Day School Alumni Association NY Chapter Inc and to the empowerment of students in the Jamaican Diaspora.


New Day School Alumni Association NY Chapter met Grace Kennedy Foundations and Tools directors, Mrs. Carolyn Mahfood & Mrs. Angella Grandison- Reid, and their staff at the Hanover St. office in Kingston, to thank GK for donating a play gym and several food products to the students of New Day Primary & Junior High School.


New Day School Alumni Association Board Members attended the New Day Primary & Junior High School graduation ceremony and awarded Jawanza Curate and Ishmael Michael, the Philip Everest Petgrave Scholarship. Both students were selected as recipients of the award having demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, earning high grades in the GSAT Examinations. They are now attending Calabar High School, Phil’s alma mater. The experience was inspiring for all in attendance. Our members and the Executive felt a tremendous sense of pride and fulfillment and are further encouraged to continue NDSAA’s mission to provide assistance to New Day students. We wish the students and the graduates of 2015 continued success. Congratulations to all our winners.


Ms. Evelyn Godden, President of New Day School Alumni Association, NY Chapter Inc. shared a proud moment as she presented the check for 7 NDSAA Scholarships to Mr. Garfield McDonald. Principal of New Day Primary & Junior High School. The NDSAA Scholarships are awarded to students with demonstrated financial need and high GSAT scores We celebrate this year’s scholarship winners and are proud of the hard work and the dedication of the faculty and students of New Day Primary & Junior High School.
